I finished Nodame Cantabile =D

I love, love, love it! I was so happy about the Specials! Not 1 two-hour long special, but 2~! I wonder if they actually filmed int Paris. Probably not, but you know it was still really cool. Some other things… I really liked Nodame’s philosophy about dresses. I like to wear dresses to cuz its so easy to pull on a dress rather than having to go find a tank top a top a sweatshirt, a skirt, or jeans… >< its nice to be lazy. Anyway I like Nodame’s outfits. And then Chiaki is all Black and gray and white… haha. But of course it suits him very well.

And the mongoose costume was so cute!

I’ve been inspired to play the piano now >< I coincidentally found sheet music for Rhapsody in Blue, adn Pathetique. I have Rondo Alla Turca too. I really want to play the Mozart Sonata in D Major, the 2 piano one. It seems kinda like the 1st piano would sound ok by itself. I have to go find the sheet music, though.

On another note… I’m still searching for my kotatsu. I found one on ebay, but im not that great at bidding and sniping. It was a miracle that time I got my ipod for $66. Bwahaha. It took foreeever to find a decently priced ipod though. And then the bidding and the sniping was horrible. Anyway I’m starting to think its gonna be impossible to get a kotatsu for less than $200. Aghh.

Kurosagi: still havnt watched any more of it. I think my love for kurosagi somehow died inexplicably. Maybe Nodame took its place. Well, I’m definitely finishing that one. Attention Please… not so much. I WILL finish it eventually and everything… I’ll probably start a new one before I finish Kurosagi.

I thinl I’m still waiting for the HanaDan movie to be subbed, and for the Hana Kimi Special. If they release it on time, 12 more days o.0 and then the horrible waiting-for-subs period. I should really learn more Japanese. I mean, I could pick it up fast enough if I went to Japan, but with my current savings thats not happening anytime soon… concentrating on Spanish right now.

More later.

Kotatsu, Nodame & Green Tea

September 21, 2008

Yes. This is a kotatsu. It is also the only actual item on my wish list. (“Clothes”, “CDs”, “DVDs”, and “Books” doesn’t count. Too vague.) I really really need it. Its actually necessary to my life. And grades. You see, its starting to get dark really quickly. Wayyyy too quickly. In the winter, there is a LOT of homework. In the winter, it’s cold and dark when you are suppossed to be doing homework. Rather than staring at endless pages of worthless assignments, you would rather be huddled next to a warm and dancing flame clutching at your last hope of survival, a smore, before you are forced to actually leave your house and go to the convenience store. I think a kotatsu would help. I found a couple on ebay… but I’m a little worried about the shipping costs. Well anyway thats what I want. Also, my “Wish List” is different from my “Expensive Items” List. That includes, 1. A laptop 2. An iPod with good memory 3. A baby grand piano 4. One of those super cool apartments downtown 5. A little piece of paper that says “First Class Ticket to Japan” and when you wave it in front of the airlines people they quickly escort you to the best seat on the plane.

NOT happening.

Other things I’ve been doing: Reading the V For Vendetta comic. I have to say I actually liked the movie better, but thats probably because I saw it first. And because it was awesome. They were pretty different. But both good.

Watching Nodame Cantabile. I’m actually enjoying it a lot. All my craving for real drama will hopefully be cured by reading some stupid teen romance novels… and then I can get back to Kurosagi. Its really sad because I love it so much (Kurosagi) but its all episodic… Bad decision, TV producers!!! I like all the songs they play in Nodame! Like Rhapsody in Blue, with the bear-looking mongoose costume! It was so cute! I’ve had the sheet music laying around for awhile, but when I saw it in Nodame I was inspired to actually play it! (Its the simple version). I think they play Rondo Alla Turca also, which I have. I like the Mozart for 2 pianos! I did figure out that its the Sonata in D Major K 448. But I cant play it… only one piano ><

Is that WAY too much about piano? I feel really inspired… haha. Practice, practice! I kinda wish I live in Iron Man’s house. Hah, I know thats really random, but I cant play the piano at night because of my neighbor… and I always feel like playing at night. If I live in Iron Man’s house, I could play whenever I want.

I watched episodes 4-5, I’m about to go watch episode 6. (Nodame)

I also bought some more green tea… the Stash Green Tea sampler. Last time I got it, I fell in love with the Chai Green Tea. I know its sounds really really weird, but it tastes like green tea ice cream! You can put milk in and its tastes super good! I like the Sushi Bar Green Tea too. Yum.

Oh and I got a haircut. It was too long. The lady put too much goop in my hair though. Too many weird hair products! At least they smell good =D Want my kotatsu! Also my asian gangster jacket! You know, like the one Eiji wears in Antique Bakery. I dont care if its tacky! I’ve really wanted one for sooo long. I cant find it anywhere, though. Sad… I must away to ebay!

Nodame 2 & 3; Seigi no Mikata Finale

September 19, 2008

Yesterday I finally watched the Seigi no Mikata Finale! I finished my homework at 12:30… and so I thought, what the hell, I might as well watch it… I’m so sad that it ended. It’s so, so sad! It would be awesome if there was a special, but it might mess up the ending. So the finale was pretty crazy. Like even crazier then Seigi episodes usually are. Hah. The part with Riku was so cuuuute! XD

Well in the meantime, I have NODAME CANTABILE. It’s at a slow point right now… I just finished episode 3. I still like it, of course, but I want something to happen. The conductor is so mysterious. Old-man-pervy-conductor-genius? Or just Old-man-perv? Hmmmmm. Still on Kurosagi episode 6. Man, none of the dramas I’ve watched really equal Hana Kimi and Hana Yori Dango in the exciting drama factor. I really miss it. I’m pretty psyched for HanaDan Final. It’s kinda killing me to wait. I’m might get really desperate and rewatch all of HanaDan 1 & 2 while I’m waiting for the English subs. Something thats been bothering me… lately Veoh has had really bad quality videos that don’t even load in the time it takes me to eat dinner and take a bath. I used to watch almost everything on Veoh, but its dissapointed me… I can’t find good quality versions of ANYTHING anymore. The place I’ve been watching Kurosagi is almost decent, but on crunchyroll, Seigi no Mikata and Nodame Cantabile are really pixelated. I guess the only way to get good quality is to download… but I dont have the hard drive space and whenever I try to download something, it always screws up. My eyes are gonna start twitching all the time now. Gyeh.

Today was the first cloudy day >< Yesterday I was almost sick of the sunny days, and wishing for cloudy ones, but as sonn as the sun went away it feel really stifling. It hasn’t even started to get cold yet, either. It only goes downhill from here. (although… lets see, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Birthday, Holidays, New Years… at least theres things to look forward to)

I’m not cut out to write a blog… I get sick of things to quickly. -_- Plus I can’t think of anything to write about. I mean other than my life, which I’m not gonna write about because it’s MY life.Yes, I do actually have a life. Surprised?

OH WAIT I thought of something. Yamapi’s hair! It just kills me. Whats with the mop style?? Go back to the way it was before D: Like in Kurosagi DX And thats another thing. Why do white boys always have stupid hair? Its always cut in that mop/beanie style. Totally uncool. Make it like Kurosagi XD Well thats enough about hair. Anyways I shouldn’t be talking, I need a haircut already, too.

Ahhh no homework. And tomorrow is Friday! This weekend I will definitely get stuff done! NO MORE SLACKING.

Nodame ep 1 & Seigi no Mikata ep 10!

September 17, 2008

I hope theres a second season though… it would be sad if there is only 10 episodes. ;_; (I’m listening to Bjork. Shes scary. o.0. She looks kinda cute yet like a robot… and then she screams a lot. Kowaii…) Well I think I’ll watch it tomorrow. I have no hard drive space left so I can’t download it. Plus I;m suppossed to be doing homework at this very moment, I was just too excited.

Yesterday I watched Nodame Cantabile episode 1. I like it… I don’t know if someone who doesn’t like piano could watch more than 5 minutes, though… Anyway, it made me want to go play the piano for like 3 hours. So I didn’t get any homework done yesterday either. Also, I don’t know if this is another crazy weird song association, but isn’t the duet they play the same as the one that’s play in Ouran HS HC? Does anyone have any idea what I’m talking about? *_*Anyway, that song got stuck in my head, but there’s so many trills that you can’t really sing it, so it was just playing in my head the whole day. It was really really annoying. Like I would be talking to someone, and then it would start playing and I’d be like SHUT UP! And they’d be like … what? Hah. I creep myself out.

Yay, I like Chiaki. The way he dresses reminds of a furuba character. Like Haari or Kureno =). I’m excited for epi 2. But I have to watch S no M 10 first!!!!!! XD and then read the manga…

Now that I wrote that thing about the movie The Promise, I really want to watch it. D’; I need a DVD player…

Homework awaits… Uploaders, upload S no M 10 while I’m away por favor~!

To Watch: Drama List

September 15, 2008

I already said somewhere that I was looking forward to watching Liar Game and Maou once I finish Kurosagi (sigh… I’m gonna miss you, Yamapi! Go make more dramas XD). Well, I can’t watch Liar Game and Maou only… because than I’d get depressed and turn into a loner… its hard enough for me to keep my energy levels up as it is. (I’m at 3 high protein energy bars a day to keep me awake. Caffeine has failed me. It makes me fall asleep. So does Monster. -_-) Then again maybe if I wasn’t up watching dramas at night… hmm.

Anyway, here are the other dramas on the top of my watchingness list:

Synopsis: Megumi Noda, or “Nodame” is a piano student at Momogaoka College of Music. An extremely talented pianist who wants to be a kindergarten teacher, she prefers playing by ear rather than reading the music score. She is messy and disorganized, takes baths several days apart and loves to eat, sometimes stealing her friend’s lunchbox when it is filled with delicacies.

Shinichi Chiaki, is Momogaoka’s top student. Born into a musical family, he is talented in piano and violin and has secret ambitions to become a conductor. An arrogant multi-lingual perfectionist who once lived abroad in the music capitals of the world as a young boy, he feels mired in Japan because of a childhood phobia.

They meet by accident. Nodame quickly falls in love, but it takes much longer for Chiaki to even begin to appreciate Nodame’s unusual qualities. Their relationship causes them both to develop and grow. Because of Nodame, Chiaki got the opportunity to lead a student orchestra and begins to have a broader appreciation of people’s musical abilities. Because of Chiaki, Nodame faces her fears and enters a piano competition. Opportunities open up as both begin taking risks, stretching themselves far more than they ever thought possible.

What I Say: I loveee piano music. I know, I’m very romantic and feminine, right? Lol. Erm, did we mention the fact the fact that I love boxing and eerie action movies…? Oh yeah, I think we did, several times… Well, I’m kinda like a living contradictoin because I like a lot of things. Including piano. Like Yiruma. I LOVE HIM. He is just so awesome. I play the piano, too. It’s so much fun to play Yiruma pieces. Surprised? I’m also an artist. (Bwahaha, my secret obsession with boxing and action… the other side of me that no one knows…) Back to the point, this looks like the cure for my loner-depression-ism that comes from too many revenge dramas. I’m really excited. I’m thinking about starting this as soon as the Seigi Finale is up. (I should really finish Attention Please!…) And then, at some point I can watch the anime/read the manga maybe if I like it… Man, I already have a list of stuff to read/watch for NEXT summer… its going to be sooooo long by the end of school… 0.0

Synopsis: Yamada Taro, a freshman on a scholarship at Ichinomiya Private Senior High School, is high-achieving, strikingly handsome, and truly athletic and seems perfect. But he is actually extremely poor. The story humorously portrays Taro, who tackles problems that occur because of his poverty, and his six younger brothers and sisters. —TBS

What I Say: This sounds like a wonderful batch of fun lighthearted mopiness curing goodness. I like school dramas. NOT Teacher/Student school dramas. I mean like Hana Kimi, HanaDan, Seigi no Mikata &c. But not the lame ones. Hopefully this is a good one.

I’m also thinking about (though have some objections to) Suppli, The Queen’s Classroom, Watashitachi no Kyokasho, Hanayome to Papa, Tiger & Dragon, and 14 Sai no Haha. Another thing I’ve been planning on finishing is the Honey & Clover anime… more about the Japanese drama later.

oh crap now I really wish it was summer… summers not even over yet and I STILL can’t wait for it to come??? Sigh… I guess I’ll just start by waiting for Winter Break… arghgohgllgrrw. I want to read Gokusen, Tramps Like Us, Nodame Cantabile & all the dramas I’ve watched that are based on mangas now… wow I’m just digging myself deeper into the hole of depression at not having time… I guess I’ll just not sleep.

In the meantime, I’m STILL waiting for the Hana Kimi SP and Hana Yori Dango Final (w/ subs) and the Seigi no Mikata finale.

As for the new fall season, I’m liking Ryusei no Kizuna and Innocent Love best. I’ll wait for them, too.

Hai: Pictures desu~

Synopsis: (I couldn’t find one good one, so here’s two bad ones!) Based on the popular novel of the same name, Ryusei no Kizuna tells the story of three orphans, whose parents were murdered long ago. Together, the three vowed on a shooting star to one day avenge their parents. After many years, the two brothers have found the murderers, and are set to carry out their plan for vengeance when they realize they’ve made a serious miscalculation; you see, their sister…

Story revolves around 3 siblings whom parents were brutally murdered while they were out star gazing. In order to survive, the 3 orphans became swindlers while also plotting revenge on their parents murderers
Ninomiya is to play the lead role who, with his younger brother and sister, witnessed the murder of his parents 14 years ago and go in search of the criminal. Ninomiya says “it tries to establish sibling bonds kindly, and to become a work that scoops out not your reason, but your instinct” and is already very enthusiastic about it.

What I Say: YESSS more swindling 7 Erika Toda! (I know I said before that I didn’t like her face, but that was because of HanaDan Returns… I am over it.)

Synopsis: An arson took it all away from Akiyama Kanon seven years ago. Her parents died in that fire, her brother was arrested as the prime suspect and her carefree life disappeared from that instant. She was shunned by the town as the sister of a murderer, yet she believes in her brother’s innocence and often pays him visits with words of encouragement. As life gets harder when nobody is willing to give her a job, Kanon decides to try her luck in the city and there she meets the man of her destiny…

What I Say: You know what… I don’t care if it sounds cheesy and sappy, I like Horikita Maki, I’m going to watch it, and no one’s stopping me. XD

Hotaru no Hikari

September 14, 2008

Hotaru no Hikari was really good. Nao was funny. But that Teshima guy pissed me off so much. His character was just so bland… And of course it’s the most obvious thing ever that their relationship is only there to delay the relationship of Hotaru and Buchou. Which was surprisingly toned down quite a bit. I thought it was really well done for a Jdrama. It’s a lot more natural than many romantic dramas.

But the real reason to watch Hotaru no Hikari is the comedy. It does get quite funny. See below.

I actually found myself humming the BGM. Amazing. The camera direction was surprisingly good too. In fact, the whole atmosphere of Hotaru no Hikari is just really charming and relaxing. It’s a nice sort of thing to come home to. Hotaru and Buchou are two well-drawn, beliebavle characters. I have been able to take this drama amazingly seriously. But that doesn’t mean it won’t turn you into a fan girl. Because it will.

September 14, 2008

I liked Gokusen, because it was funny and it had MATSUJUN in it. BUT…

1. It got really repetitive by the end. Yankumi always had to go beat someone up and magically inspire them.

2. ARGHHHH my heart screams in pain because MatsuJun isn’t in the next season!

I really loved Sawada’s character and Yankumi. It was so cool at the end where the loser police guy goes…

“So I guess that makes the three of us rivals, then?”

*Shin pops up*

“Sorry, but… make that the four of us.”

…so cool. I kind of DIED when I figured out the second season was completely different. Thats one of the reasons I’m not watching Gokusen 2 and 3. The other reason is that I can’t believe they actually could squeeze 20 more episodes out of the same basic plotline… I mean, it was pretty funny, but even within the FIRST season it started to get too tiring and predictable.

Also, this is the first student/teacher drama I ever watched… so I hope it was the best, because I’m NOT watching any more. Maybe I should’ve watched GTO… but I HAD to watch Gokusen, it had MatsuJun in it, and he was a DELINQUENT! Plus the whole yakuza part was really good. Anyway, NO MORE student/teacher dramas. NEVER. How many freaking are there??? I can think of like 10 off the top of my head… Gokusen, GTO, Sensei wa Erai, Seito Shokun, Gakko ja Oshierarenai, Dragon Zakura, Scrap Teacher, The Queen’s Classrom, Gachi Baka, Taiyo to Umi no Kyoshitsu. HA. That was easy. And I didn’t even include Gokusen 2 & 3. Wow. So many… Well… actually I lied… I do plan on watching The Queen’s Classroom. It’s not at the top of my list, but I’ve heard lots of good things about it, and I like Shida Mirai.

ANYWAY. Yankumi is super cool with her hair down. But even that cannot make me watch the other Gokusen seasons. NOT EVEN KAME AND TEPPEI. Because honestly, it’s a total repeat of the first season. AND IT DOESNT HAVE THE BEST PEOPLE. Roar.

Oh my godddd its so unfair for Yukie and Jun to have such chemistry >< Im so angry.

I think Shin & Yankumi actually got together in the manga… that alone would make me read the manga. (I am a sucker. I accept it)

The whole cast is the best!

The whole cast is the best!

I’ve just been looking at the manga, and I think I would’ve been really angry at the drama if I read the manga first. The drama couldv’e been even better if it had been more like the manga. (actually the only reason I was looking for the manga is because I wanted to see the part where Shinkumi get together, but it looks pretty funny.) I couldn’t find the last chapter! I also couldn’t figure out when it was first released in Japan… but its been awhile. It’s kind of unbelievable that it hasn’t been released in the US yet since it obviously has such a huge following of online readers. As far as I can tell, the last chapter hasn’t even been scanlated yet. Shinkumi… ;_;
